Byron joined Johanson & Yau in 1983 and has been a partner in the firm’s tax department since 2002. As a tax partner, he specializes in tax services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts. As a key member in the investment advisory division of Johanson & Yau, Byron has Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and a California insurance license (Lic. #0E32247). He serves small and medium closely held businesses, high net worth individuals and real estate clients with tax and advisory services. Byron prides himself on personal service and enjoys working with small businesses and individuals.
In addition to his role as partner, Byron is an active member within the Tax Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). Byron is also a member of the Japanese-American Chamber of Commerce.
Byron graduated with honors from the University of Santa Clara and has an MBA in taxation from Golden Gate University. He was born and raised in San Jose and is also an ordained minister for the Konko Church of San Jose, serving as assistant head minister. Byron serves as assistant chief administrative minister for the Konko Churches of North America, a body that governs all of the Konko Churches in America and Canada. He enjoys sports and shares in season tickets for all of the major sports teams in the Bay Area.
